The importance of servicing your vehicle

Unlike an MOT, putting your car through a service is not a legal requirement. However, vehicles have a number of perishable parts and without proper maintenance, your vehicle will begin to show the signs of poor performance. You might notice the vehicle not running as smoothly, fuel consumption worsening and noises you hadn’t noticed before.

Regular servicing of the vehicle will ensure problems are rectified before anything becomes too serious. If a minor problem is left for too long it can lead to problems elsewhere, meaning repair bills can add up.

Our complete service checks help to ensure that your vehicle’s vital signs are healthy. In every service we will replace the engine oil and ensure vital fluids are topped up.

How often do I need a service?

The servicing schedule varies from vehicle to vehicle and depending on the number of miles covered. Some deterioration of a vehicle is related to the mileage covered, some deterioration can be caused by adverse weather.

We’d recommend a full service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. We’d also recommend either a small or interim service every 6 months, depending on the vehicle and mileage covered.

Older vehicles and high performance vehicles benefit from more regular service intervals to check for any issues and leaks and to keep performance levels high. Newer vehicles don’t tend to need servicing quite as regularly.
